How LocateOwner works
LocateOwner summarizes public ownership visibility for a domain and outlines sensible, lawful ways to make contact. We do not retrieve private information, circumvent privacy protections, or “deanonymize” registrants.
What we analyze
- RDAP/WHOIS-style registration data as published by registries and registrars—understanding field names may still read “WHOIS” even when the protocol is RDAP.
- Privacy and proxy patterns when public records suggest a forwarding or privacy service.
- Optional website signals when enabled in your deployment (for example, links to public contact pages). This is not bulk scraping of personal data.
What you receive
A readable classification of how “visible” registrant details appear, a primary recommended contact channel aligned with common practice, and short next steps for purchase interest, normal business outreach, abuse reporting, or legal awareness—without giving legal advice.
What we avoid
- Claims that private identity can be uncovered from this tool.
- Harvesting data from non-public sources, paywalls, or deceptive methods.
- Spam-enabled or high-pressure outreach templates.
